A press conference will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. at the auditorium of the UP College of Mass Communication (Plaridel Hall, UP Diliman, Quezon City) to shed light on the nature of opposition to the administration's thrust of internationalization and corporatization.
Selected faculty members, staff and students will discuss the implications of moving the start of classes from June to August, the renaming of the College of Business Administration to Virata School of Business, moratorium on hiring, contractualization and the socialized tuition system, among other burning issues.
The objective of the press conference/media forum is to give an alternative situation at UP which is also reflective of the state of other state universities and colleges (SUCs).
After the press conference, there will be a march to Quezon Hall where a noise barrage will be held. The mass action at Quezon Hall wil be sustained every Wednesday from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
