LibSpeak
LibSpeak is the UP Future Library and Information Professionals of the Philippines’ premier event. It is an annual event that furthers UP FLIPP’s mission to promote and uplift the field of LIS. It aims to give people a new, better, and holistic perception of the field of Library and Information Science. It was pioneered on March 12, 2007 at the UP School of Library and Information Studies, Gonzales Hall, UP Diliman. Geared towards promoting awareness of the current state of Library and Information Science and the new image of librarianship, the event consists of a conference with speakers discussing LIS topics, career talks, and contests for high school students. The themes for the competitions run in parallel to the topics of discussion in the conference.
For this year, LibSpeak 2012, with the theme "Renew.Resonate.Realize," will be held on February 20, 2012 at the National Institute of Physics Auditorium, National Science Complex, UP Diliman.
