UP Provident Fund
UP Provident Fund
The UP Provident Fund was established on March 24, 1994 during the 1075th Meeting of the BOR.
The UP Provident Fund Charter, approved by the BOR last May 27, 1994, covers all UP regular employees, both full-time and part-time whether permanent or temporary and all those on hourly, daily or monthly basis such as casuals, contractuals, substitutes, graduate assistants, student assistants, lecturers and professors emeriti.
For the purposes of clarification, contractual project employees whose appointments were not processed by the HRDO and submitted to the Civil Service Commission; or whose contracts stipulate " no employer-employee relationship" are not entitled to the Provident Fund benefits.
The Fund anticipates the welfare of retiring employees and provides for personal and family emergencies, e.g. personal loans, and other benefits that the Board of Directors may allow.
