1 Activities
=Attendance= 
An activity is a group of features in an UVLe course.

A classroom teacher can now take attendance and record it directly in UVLe. Points may also be assigned to students being present, late, absent, or excused. To enable this functionality, add the Attendance activity on UVLe.

# Assignment
* The assignment activity module enables a teacher to communicate tasks, collect work and provide grades and feedback.
* Attendance
* The attendance activity module enables a teacher to take attendance during class and students to view their own attendance record.
* BBB Conference
* BBB Conference lets you create from within UVLe links to real-time on-line classrooms using BBB Conference, an open source web conferencing system for distance education.
* Chat
* The chat activity module enables participants to have text-based, real-time synchronous discussions.
* Checklist
* The checklist module allows a teacher to create a checklist / todo list / task list for their students to work through.
* Choice
* The choice activity module enables a teacher to ask a single question and offer a selection of possible responses.
* Feedback
* The feedback activity module enables a teacher to create a custom survey for collecting feedback from participants using a variety of question types including multiple choice, yes/no or text input.
* Forum
* The forum activity module enables participants to have asynchronous discussions i.e. discussions that take place over an extended period of time.
* Forum (Advanced)
* Forum (Advanced) contains a number of additional features including the ability to see who has engaged in a discussion before you open it, a setting to show recent forum posts on the course page, subscribing to individual threads, private replies and an option to allow anonymous posting, post bookmarking, along with all the features a standard Forum has.
* Quiz
* The quiz activity enables a teacher to create quizzes comprising questions of various types, including multiple choice, matching, short-answer and numerical.

* Attendance Register
* Attendance Register calculates time users spend working in online Courses. Optionally allow the User record Offline activities.
* Certificate
* This module allows for the dynamic generation of certificates based on predefined conditions set by the teacher.
* Database
* The database activity module enables participants to create, maintain and search a collection of entries (i.e. records). The structure of the entries is defined by the teacher as a number of fields. Field types include checkbox, radio buttons, dropdown menu, text area, URL, picture and uploaded file.
* External Tool
* The external tool activity module enables students to interact with learning resources and activities on other websites.
* Glossary
* The glossary activity module enables participants to create and maintain a list of definitions, like a dictionary, or to collect and organise resources or information.
* HotPot
* The HotPot module allows teachers to distribute interactive learning materials to their students via UVLe and view reports on the students' responses and results.
* Interactive Content (H5P)
* The H5P activity module enables you to create interactive content such as Interactive Videos, Question Sets, Drag and Drop Questions, Multi-Choice Questions, Presentations and much more.
* Journal
* The journal activity enables teachers to obtain students feedback about a specific topic
* Lesson
* The lesson activity module enables a teacher to deliver content and/or practice activities in interesting and flexible ways.
* Mindmap
* Mindmap module allows you to create and save simple mindmaps from within UVLe.
* Questionnaire
* The questionnaire module allows you to construct surveys using a variety of question types, for the purpose of gathering data from users.
* Reservation
* The main aim of this activity is to schedule laboratory sessions and exams but you can schedule everything you want.
* Scheduler
* The scheduler activity helps you in scheduling appointments with your students.
* Scorm Package
* A SCORM package is a collection of files which are packaged according to an agreed standard for learning objects. The SCORM activity module enables SCORM or AICC packages to be uploaded as a zip file and added to a course.
* Survey
* The survey activity module provides a number of verified survey instruments that have been found useful in assessing and stimulating learning in online environments.
* Wiki
* The wiki activity module enables participants to add and edit a collection of web pages. A wiki can be collaborative, with everyone being able to edit it, or individual, where everyone has their own wiki which only they can edit.
* Workshop
* The workshop activity module enables the collection, review and peer assessment of students' work.

Complementing the Progress Bar is the Engagement Analytics block that the teacher can add so that the students themselves can see their own level of engagements in the course. Student activities like login, Forum, Assignments are aggregated and computed into certain figures.

A checklist of items can be created and ticked off by the teacher or the students. It also includes features like:
* additional notes for the checklist
* items can include dates that can be exported to the calendar

If also used as a block, '''Checklist''' can be set to include a progress bar tracking students' progress. If the activity is graded, the grades can be exported as an Excel spreadsheet containing the checkmarks from a checklist.

1 Activities An activity is a group of features in an UVLe course.

1.1 Common Activities
