HOUSING FACILITIES
Residential units in certain UP campuses are available for least to University employees. The authority to revise the rules on leases and the schedule of charges and other fees for housing services are now delegated to the Office of the Chancellor.
As an occupant of any University housing unit, you should not make alterations, additions and improvements on the premises without the written consent of UP. Any improvement shall become a property of the University upon expiration of the lease. You and your immediate family must use the premises as a private dwelling house only and not for any other purpose. It is your responsibility as a lessee to observe peace within the premises and avoid unnecessary noise. You should not keep animals in the premises, particularly poultry or hogs, except pets in reasonable number. The University Housing Committee has the right to terminate the contract of lease should you fail to conform with the terms of the contract.
Transfer of housing privileges may be made to a member of the family who is a full-time regular employee of the University and has rendered at least ten (10) years of service to the University. Further information on rules and rates may be obtained from the Committee on University Housing or the UP Housing Office.
Meanwhile the System-wide Committee on Employee Welfare and Benefits and the UP Employees Housing Cooperative (UPEHCO) have come up with separate proposals for off-campus housing for UP employees. Such proposals are under study while plans to relocate squatters to suitable alternative sites are being considered.
