Our Eyes Are Fish Swimming In Their Own Tears is a hybrid documentary short film that revolves around the aspect of navigating placelessness through intimacy and the filmmaker’s process of dealing with her wound on remembering as a necessity and forgetting as a fear.
The film comes to be as the filmmaker goes through her collection of personal footage. She sent excerpts from her recent journal entries to people and asked them to send her materials from their personal archives, based on what they had read. Along with her recent archive, she repurposes this into a space that she can hold on to as a means to process her grief over memory, people, and places.
