SABBATICAL

A sabbatical may be granted to a member of the faculty for a period not exceeding one year, subject to the exigencies of the service. For you to be allowed to go on a sabbatical, you must have served the University for not less than six consecutive years at the rank of Associate Professor in the last two (2) years. You must also be in active serviice to the University at least two (2) years before your scheduled sabbatical.
Vacation leave without pay of not more than five (5) months is not considered break in the six (6) year period. Active service as used in this particular case means actual direct service to the University including special detail. Remember, no sabbatical is granted within two (2) years before compulsory retirement. After your sabbatical, you must immediately report back for service to the University.
