"Tagpuan"

Pacleb, V. P. A. (2013). Tagpuan. Unpublished Undergraduate Thesis, University of the Philippines, College of Mass Communication.

Tagpuan tells the story of two estranged parents employing starkly different methods of raising a child. The film explores two differing parental points of view regarding morality, asking if the “means really do justify the ends.” It also attempts to rationalize the opposing sides’ perspectives in the hopes of redefining justice, morality and the cyclic nature of parenthood. Through the use of parallel editing, the film juxtaposes two arcs of a story in an attempt to show contrasting world views. It is also guided by Motive Consequentialism to explore the justification of the characters’ actions.
