Huling Hiling tells the story of Celia, a loving housewife, who takes care of Rudy, her terminally ill husband, in a hospice setting. Accepting his condition, Rudy asks Celia a favor that is difficult to grant – that he be laid to rest.
The film centers on the perplexing decision Celia has to make. Initially, Celia expresses her opposition when Rudy requests euthanasia, which is considered taboo in the Philippines. In time, however, Celia is forced to rethink her stance upon accepting the reality that Rudy is indeed resolved in his request.
