It is important that academic events on campus are video recorded or streamed.

  • Video recording or streaming expands one's audience beyond the confines of a lecture hall. It enables the participation of people who otherwise cannot make it to the event.

  • Video recording is a good part of the documentation of an event. If an event is not documented, practically it has not occurred.

  • With video recording or streaming, academic research and views can be disseminated in a quick and timely manner. There is always going to be gap between research and publication of research results. Chances are many aspects of research remain unpublished. Video recording can help fill in the gaps. Videos can be archived online for posterity and can be used as course materials.
