This is what the process of manual enlistment of subjects is called by UP students. In the past, and even at the present, students would approach a subject's instructor in order to ask him/her to be enlisted in that class. It is then the teacher's prerogative to give the student the slot in the class or not. This term have also been used when the student would go to the department of the subject being offered and be enlisted there.
