Business Concessions Office

By virtue of Executive Order No. 06, dated 27 July 1994, the Business Concessions Office (BCO) was transferred from the Office of the University Business Manager, of the UP System to UP Diliman, under the Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Community Affairs. Functions of the Office
The main thrust of the BCO is the effective and efficient collection of rentals and surcharges of business concessionaires in the University, including charges for utilities (water and electricity), garbage collection fees, blue telephone rentals, photocopying and vending machines rentals operating inside academic and administrative buildings, kiosks vending permit fees, food and tiangge sale from student activities and other special events, daily collection of space rental from the Philcoa Wet Market, and other sources of incidental income for the University.
The BCO is also involved with the updating of contracts of business operators in the University and the monitoring of their activities. On 26 September l994, Administrative Order No. 128 was issued by the Chancellor, UP Diliman, transferring the administrative control and supervision over privately managed food and business outlets which used to be under the University Food Service, Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Student Affairs, to the BCO.
