Founded on November 23, 1976, the University of the Philippines Circle of Industrial Engineering Majors (UP CIEM) has continuously molded and developed outstanding, competent and well-rounded individuals for 34 years.
UP CIEM was formed to provide academic support to the Industrial Engineering students of the College. However, in addition to promoting academic excellence, the organization has made it its core value to advocate the personal development of the students not merely as Industrial Engineers, but as members of the community. To fulfill its purposes, UP CIEM holds various projects each year such as the college entrance exam review for incoming freshmen, tutorials, outreach programs, and the IESHIKAWA Seminar - an annual event to impart a range of Industrial Engineering topics to other universities.
Despite of its growing numbers, UP CIEM remained true to its foundation, providing an organization of support, assistance and relationships to the students. However, more than being an organization, UP CIEM is a family that helps its members to achieve their full potentials and capabilities.
