About the RTD Cinema in the Philippines has, by now, had a long history, and recent changes in local cinema has also been remarkable. Certainly, film criticism in the Philippines is not static. It is continually developing, partly in response to the changes in cinema, but, beyond that and more importantly, as a discrete field. The RTD is an opportune venue to reflect on the poetics and practice of film criticism in the Philippines. In particular, following broad questions would hopefully be addressed:

What has been the history of film criticism in the Philippines?
In your view as a critic, where is it or should it be going?
What have been the principles and presuppositions of your own critical practice, through the years, that could shed light on the foregoing questions?
