This study deals with the rise of 360-degree video productions and how this technological innovation can change the current playing field of media. This study challenges the extent to which this new technological advancement can be used and the trend of engagement that the audiences to likely have in the long run.

As of today, the 360-degree videos are being used in promotional materials of broadcast texts and commercial advertisements. These videos are currently being released as online media content, but others have already taken these materials on-ground through virtual reality experience zones. Diffusion of Innovations Theory is used in this study to look at how this new way of visual storytelling has been introduced and accepted by both the consumers and producers and how this can further be developed according to the needs that consumers want to satisfy in themselves.

With these premises, this study aims to present the current processes of the production and executions of 360-degree videos. This study also presents the possible direction that 360-degree videos can take especially that in the Philippine broadcast industry such as the production of full-length television series or select episodes using this technology.
