Home economics education is a field of study which integrates concepts, principles and theories of different areas of home economics: food and nutrition, shelter and clothing, family life and child development, and consumer and livelihood education.

It emphasizes skills in decision making and household resource management. It takes into serious consideration the interaction between the material and relational aspects of day to day living.

Its main vision of strengthening family life is accomplished through the academic programs, extension services, research and publication.
