It focuses on the interaction of family members as they address their material and relational needs. The discipline takes into account issues and challenges facing families and societal development both local and global."1

The Department of Family Life and Child Development envisions a family-centered and value-laden society that addresses the needs and holistic development of individuals and families, their empowerment, and harmonious relationships.

Mission

The department is committed to the development of academic programs for instruction, research and extension in Family Life and Child Development.
