====================================================

Technology, in many ways, drives innovation. It transforms how students think, and likewise, transforms how teachers teach. And with the advancement of technology, it is only inevitable that teaching and learning are also (constantly) changing. Twenty-first century learners have diverse learning styles, and thus present varying challenges for higher education. So how do teachers face these challenges?

Listen to and join the discussions at the Symposium on Interactive Learning and Innovative Teaching: Modernizing Pedagogy through EdTech and Blended Learning Strategies to be held on Monday, 20 June 2016, 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the National Engineering Center (NEC) 1st floor Auditorium. This is scheduled in the afternoon of the UC meeting.

This is the 10th in the OVCAA’s Balangkas Symposium series, an open-format town hall forum designed to complement existing, more structured venues for public discourse within the University. The Symposium series tackles various initiatives related to UP Diliman’s programs related to teaching, curriculum, and education technology.

This symposium is being organized by the Interactive Learning Center (ILC) Diliman to present some examples and best practices in modernizing pedagogy, highlighting the use of education technology (EdTech) and effective teaching and learning strategies. The different resource persons will share their experiences and strategies, as well as the gains and challenges, in making learning more engaging and interactive. Such sharing will be especially timely for the design and assessment of the GE courses. The symposium, through the open discussions, will also serve as a venue to generate feedback that would help ILC Diliman in improving its EdTech resources and services as well as in identifying strategies for promoting the culture of innovative, learner-centered, collaborative and dynamic teaching in UP Diliman.

Below is the Symposium program for your reference. For pre-registration for the event, please click here. For further inquiries, please contact Ms. Olive Gabriel at (direct) 9209556, (trunk line) 9818500 local 2058, or through email (dilc@upd.edu.ph)

We look forward to your (inter)active participation in the Symposium.

Thank you very much.
