Association of Visual Communicators
The Association of Visual Communicators (AVCom) is a duly recognized college-based organization from the College of Fine Arts of the University of the Philippines, Diliman. AVCom is commited to produce optimum professionals adept in conceptualization, production, and communication.

Members
[edit | edit source]The Association of Visual Communicators consists of UP College of Fine Arts students mostly from the College's Visual Communication Department who have accomplished the requirements for the organization's application process.
They share a combined interest in gaining better exposure to the various visual communication techniques through events such as workshops, seminars, and other extracurricular activities related to the field.
Activities
[edit | edit source]Lectours
[edit | edit source]To expose it's members to the actual work environment in the visual communication fields, AVCom organizes Lectours, a play on the words 'lecture' and 'tour'. During this activity, members, along with the applicants, visit companies where they are given the chance to witness the everyday happenings inside the office. Here, they are also introduced to the company and given a tour of the work area.
In 2010, AVCom members visited two of the top advertising agencies in the Philippines, Campaigns & Grey Philippines and DDB Philippines.
Art Fairs
[edit | edit source]As most AVCom members are junior entrepreneurs as well, AVCom participates in the annual UP College of Fine Arts Art Fair by setting up a booth to sell various items designed by it's members. This serves also as a means of fund-raising to support the organization's other activities.
UP Lantern Parade
[edit | edit source]AVCom participates in the annual UP Lantern Parade which occurs on the last school day of the year. Members design either a float or individual costumes that echo the theme that the College of Fine Arts decides on every year.
During the 2009 Lantern Parade, AVCom members paraded in their pagoda headdresses that were lit up with Christmas lights.

[edit | edit source]In November 2010, members of AVCom assisted in the redesign of the Rizal Park Children's Playground in Rizal Park, Manila.
