2015 CERAMIC ART WORKSHOP

Advanced Pottery Workshop (7-sessions)

This workshop is open to students who already have the basic skills in working the pottery wheel.It will be facilitated by Mr. Pete Cortes.

Every Saturday, 9am to 12 pm / 1:00 to 4:00pm

NOTE: No classes on February 28 due to Tropical Blaze Wood-Firing Festival

Basic Pottery Workshop Batch 1 (7-sessions)

This workshop introduces students to basic hand-building techniques in forming works and in using the wheel.It will be facilitated by Prof. Romanlito Austria.

Every Monday, 1:30 to 4:30pm

February 23, March 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, April 13 (glazing session)

Sculptural Ceramic Workshop (7-sessions)

This workshop familiarizes students with the nature, possibilities and processes involved in working with stoneware clay as a medium to create sculptural forms. It provides opportunities for students to build skills and techniques in hand-building clay sculptures.It will be facilitated by Prof. Rita Gudino.

Pottery and Clay Sculpture Workshop for Kids and Teens (7-sessions)

The workshop is open to participants ages 7 to 19 years old. It teaches basic hand-building techniques in making clay forms.The method of instruction is individualized as the teacher is trained to know the characteristics of child art at each stage of development and thus is able to identify their students stage and can prescribe the appropriate approach and level of instruction.

Every Monday and Saturday, 9am to 12 pm / 1:30 to 4:30pm

April 20, 25, 27, May 2, 4, 9, 18 (glazing session)

Workshop Fee: P6500.00/student, inclusive of 12 kilos of clay and firing.

Invitation to join the Ceramic Studio extension Programs

Mabuhay! The UPCFA Ceramic Studio is organizing the following Extension Programs this FirstSemester, SY 2014-2015

Pottery and Clay Sculpture Workshop for Beginners

Schedule: Every Monday, 9 am to 12 pm / 1:30 to 4:30pm.
This workshop is open to ages 7 and above and will be facilitated by professional potter, Joey de Castro.

===Advanced Pottery Workshop===
This workshop is open to students who already have the basic skills in working the pottery wheel. It will be facilitated by professional potter, Pete Cortes.

Schedule: Every Saturday, 9 am to 12 pm / 1:30 to 4:30 pm

The 7-session workshops will be opened as soon as we have a minimum of 4 students enrolled in each schedule. The targeted start date of the workshops is on August 23 for the Saturday class and August 18 for the Monday class. The workshop fee for outsiders is P6500.00/student, inclusive of 10 kilos of clay and firing. For works made from the clay over and above the 10 kilos of clay inclusive of the workshop fee, students will pay P60/kilo and charged a firing fee of P2.00 / cu in.

In line with the Ceramic Studio's objectives of offering Ceramic Arts and Design as a major for the BFA Program of the college, the Extension Programs are open to a maximum of FIVE (5) UPCFA faculty members / staff per semester. Interested faculty and UPCFA staff will need to pay P1950.00 only, to cover the honorarium of guest facilitator. The studio will be subsidizing the clay and firing fees of interested faculty and staff.

The following are the Special Clay and Firing Rates for UPCFA Faculty and Staff: Clay=P30 / kilo Firing Fee=P1.25 / cu in.
