Leaders for Excellence, Action and Development, better known as LEAD-CHE cause-oriented organization founded in the College of Home Economics in the University of the Philippines Diliman. LEAD strives to attain holistic excellence through active participation of College of Home Economics students to various academics and socio-cultural activities, transparency between departments, faculties & students, and awareness on the socially relevant issues in and out of the college.

Moreover as a proud member organization of KAISA - Nagkakaisang Iskolar para sa Pamantasan at Sambayanan, LEAD is composed of servant-leaders who are willing to share their time off their academic life and give service to the College and community by honing students to become effective and efficient workers and leaders. It primarily focuses on self-actualization through development of leadership and social skills as well as awareness of issues that concerns the College and the people.

History

Since its establishment in 2002, LEAD has been in the service of the students by assessing and planning activities that cater to the need of every CHE scholar. It clearly acknowledges and practices the core values that the college tries to inculcate among the students: the Seven Educative Goals.

LEAD donated the College’s wireless access point so students can enjoy free wireless internet while inside the CHE complex.

Principles

At the core of LEAD-CHE are three principles:

  • Excellence through Service

As students from the country's premiere state university, we are taught to value academic excellence and intellectual honesty. We seek truth using the knowledge and widsom that we learned from the University. As scholars for the people, and for the people, we serve our peers with exemplary leadership.

  • Action in Unity

Sharing the same ideals as KAISA - Nagkakaisang Iskolar para sa Pamantasan at Sambayanan, LEAD inspires our fellow students to be an Iskolar Aktibista; students who are aware of various issues regarding the university and the state.

  • Development towards Social Justice

We believe in inclusive activism, wherein we take into consideration the concerns and insights of everyone, students and people in the different sectors of the country, to form one solution to a problem. Because we at LEAD-CHE not merely oppose, but propose an action and dedicatedly push for its realization.
