2015 is the International Year of Light (IYL). The aim of IYL is to highlight the importance of light and and light-based technologies to man and society. It would also be a great opportunity to reflect on light, find new ways to harness its benefits and collaborate with a bigger inter-disciplinary optical science community.

Towards this, NIP is organising a public symposium called "IlumiNASYON" on March 9, 2015 (Monday, 9am, NIP Audi) for light enthusiasts of all disciplines including (but not limited to) applied arts and design, biology and medicine, sci-tech and cosmology, performance arts to more fundamental studies on light particles (photons) and the speed of light.
