Mga Paru Parong Liwayway

Mga Paru-Parong Liwayway is an experimental film that expresses the experiences, realities and complexities that prevail in the present generation of Filipino Migrant Families which is Migratory Separation and its complex consequences bearing on the relationships within the Family. Through the use of the essence of the Pieta, a recitation of the “Our Father” read together with an original poem delivered containing excerpts of the prayer “Our Father”, written by the film-maker, and narrated by his immediate family members.
This experimental film will try to make sense of the slow yet painful "deaths", the broken-ness, distraction of materialism, resentment and the experiences that the Filipino migrant families undergo in the life of migration, in effect becoming forced travelers. At the same time it will explore the movement which unravels the bondage of individuals affected by migratory separation leading to realization, and determination to do the “little things” done in great love that still require great sacrifices but that can unite and heal the Filipino migrant families.
