Abstract

Manacsa, Shiela Anne Mae. Kung Wala Nang Tulad Natin (If People Such as We Cease to Exist), Unpublished Undergraduate Thesis, University of the Philippines College of Mass Communication, 2016.

A short film about Lita woman searching for things that are missing before her husband's buria only to realize what she’s been searching for is not what she wishes to find.

The film makes use of a formalist approach patterned on Andrei Tarkovsky’s writings on his form of cinema through long takes and wide shots. The treatment brings out the contemplative state of both the characters and the audience, which is often lost in a number of dramas as they are presented with overwhelming close ups and fast cuts.
