Online Registration - TrainingWorkshop on Digitization and Digital Preservation for Wider Access

The Asosayon ng Aklatan at Sinupan ng Diliman, Inc. (AASDI) in partnership with the University Library, University of the Philippines invite you to participate in a Training-Workshop entitled Digitization and Digital Preservation for Wider Access to be held on 20-22 May 2015 at the Main Library, Gonzalez Hall, University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City.

The main objective of the Training-Workshop is to provide participants with the means to move beyond theoretical understanding to implementation strategies adhering to the current and emerging standards, best practices, and sound decision-making in planning and implementing digitization projects.

Specifically, this training-workshop aims to enable the participants to: 1. Understand the basic concepts of digitization and digital preservation; 2. Know the different hardware and software used for image capture, image

    processing, storage, preservation, and retrieval;

3. Make good choices and to initiate successful digital imaging and digitization programs at their home institutions; 4. Define and design a low cost digitization project; and 5. Implement digitization projects and establish institutional repositories.

Registration fee is Php 5,000.00 (inclusive of meals, kit, and certificate). Payments can be made in cash or cheque payable to Asosasyon ng Aklatan at Sinupan ng Diliman, Inc. Payment can be deposited to PNB, U.P. Diliman Branch with Savings Account Number 598967000013.

The University of the Philippines Library Staff Training and Development Committee (STDC) in partnership with the UP Library and Information Science Alumni Association, Inc. (UPLSAA) invites you to participate in a Training-Workshop entitled Training-Workshop on Digitization and Digital Preservation for Wider Access to be held on 4-6 November 2014 at the Gonzalez Hall, University Main Library, University of the Philippines Diliman.

The main objective of the Training-Workshop is to provide participants with the means to move beyond theoretical understanding to implementation strategies adhering to the current and emerging standards, best practices, and sound decision-making in planning and implementing digitization projects.
