Kanlungan Mendoza, L.C. (2014) Kanlungan, Unpublished Undergraduate Thesis, University of the Philippines College of Mass Communication

KANLUNGAN is a stylized narrative film that explores the significance of connections and the phenomena of human deterioration and death. It is told through the accounts of a desert wanderer and his waterborne companion's search for water.

Their pursuit for an ocean in the desert is guided by semiotics and a surrealist structure whilst anchored on the basic tenet of Philippine Psychology, the Kapwa Theory. The theory renders pakikipagkapwa or having a sense of shared identity as a distinct Filipino value. Kanlungan attempts to convey the vitality of connections in life and in death.
