Closure of Ylanan Street and Velasquez Street to traffic

FOR: All Deans and Directors/ Heads of Units All Faculty, Staff and Students All UP Campus Residents

SUBJECT: Closure of Ylanan Street (along Commonwealth Avenue) and Velasquez Street (along C.P. Garcia Avenue) to traffic for forty five (45) days effective November 12, 2008

Kindly be advised that effective November 12, 2008, Wednesday, Ylanan Street (along Commonwealth Avenue) and Velasquez Street (along C.P. Garcia Avenue) shall be closed to vehicular traffic for forty five (45) days. The closure is in view of the construction of new portals on said entry/exit points of the University. The portals shall incorporate security sentinels that will enable better means of monitoring the ingress and egress of pedestrian and vehicular traffic within the University.

Motorists are advised to use the University Avenue as an alternate route during the closure of Ylanan Street. Meanwhile, Jacinto Street may be used as an alternate route to/from C.P. Garcia during the closure of Velasquez Street. Jacinto Street shall be open daily at 5 A.M. to 10 P.M. daily.

Meanwhile, Tavera Street shall be made accessible only to Ikot and Toki PUVs.
