Dear President Roman:

In the University of the Philippines Diliman Special University Council Meeting held on September 22, 2008 at the Engineering Theater, College of Engineering, the Council, by a vote of 106 for, 5 against, and 2 abstaining approved the motion, duly seconded, "To adopt the current rules on the Selection of Faculty Regent with a strong recommendation to whoever will be elected Faculty Regent to immediately convene representatives of different UCs and former Faculty Regents to draw up proposed rules for consideration by the various University Councils."
