J. Prospero E. De Vera III
Dr. J. Prospero E. De Vera III is the incumbent vice president for public affairs of the University of the Philippines. A full professor of public administration, he served as director of the U.P. Center for Policy & Executive Development (CPED). Before joining the academe, he worked as a political consultant and chief-of-staff of several Philippine senators such as Leticia Ramos-Shahani. Dr. De Vera also spent time working for the United States government.
He earned his Doctor of Public Administration (DPA) degree from the University of the Philippines and went to the California State University as a visiting scholar under a Fulbright-Hayes Scholarship.
Professor De Vera is a regular resource person of the media on political issues.
