Administrative Positions

Prof. Kristoffer R. Esquejo is a junior faculty of the Department of History. He briefly served as Assistant College Secretary of the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy from December 2010 to September 2011. Currently, he is in Mexico as a member of the pilot batch of exchange program between UP, Archivo General de la Nacion, El Colegio de Mexico and El Colegio de San Luis doing a research on Spanish documents about the Galleon Trade.

Courses handled

For the last four years (1 year in UP Baguio and 3 years in UP Diliman), Prof. Esquejo taught two GE courses: Kasaysayan 1 (Philippine History and Institutions) and Kasaysayan 2 (Asia and the World).

Publications

For two years, Prof. Esquejo was a former columnist of a section on history and culture in a local weekly newspaper in Romblon. Most of these articles written in Filipino can be accessed in the website www.romblonpost.com under the "Romblon History and Trivia."

So far, he had two publications - one in a national newspaper and one in a refereed journal:

Awards and Recognitions

Prof. Esquejo finished BA History (magna cum laude) at UP Diliman in 2007. After earning his master's degree 2010, he also won as one of the two recipients of NCCA Young Historian's Prize 2011. His thesis is about the local political history of Romblon, an archipelagic province in Southern Tagalog and his beloved home province.
