Dr. Ferdinand Blancaflor Pitagan was a Monbukagusho (Japanese Government Scholarship) scholar from 2005 to 2010. He is a graduate (March 2010) of International Christian University, Tokyo, Japan with a degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Education. He was a research fellow at Tokyo Gakugei University (2005-2006) and a special science teacher at Philippine Science High School (1997-2004). He has done extensive research and written numerous articles about education, technology, and society. Furthermore, he has done various international research presentations; been the project leader of the Asian Graduate School Forum; and received several national and international awards. At present, he is an assistant professor at the College of Education, University of the Philippines - Diliman, teaching educational technology courses, an educational technology consultant of UP Information Technology Training Center (UP-ITTC) and a research fellow of the ICU Institute for Educational Research and Service (IERS).
