Jan Robert R. Go is a teaching associate of the Department of Political Science at University of the Philippines, Diliman.

Background

Prior to teaching, Mr Go was project assistant for the safe hospitals campaign of the Emergency and Humanitarian Action unit of World Health Organization - Western Pacific Regional Office in Manila from 2009 to 2010. From May to October 2010, he was a part-time research associate at the Department of Political Science. He also taught for a semester at St Scholastica's College in Manila. At present, Mr Go has finished the required coursework for his graduate studies (M.A. in political science), and is set to take his comprehensive examinations on February 2012. He finished his bachelor's degree in political science from University of the Philippines, Manila in 2009. He is currently teaching Social Science II (Social, Economic and Political Thought).

Courses handled

As a teaching associate, Mr Go teaches the only general education course offered by the Department of Political Science, Social Science II (Social, Economic and Political Thought).

Fields of Specialization and Topics of Interest

Mr Go is currently specializing on three areas in political science: (1) Philippine politics and government, (2) political dynamics, and (3) political theory and methodology. His topics of interest are academic freedom, decentralization, democracy and democratization, educational reform, and student politics.
