Asia on the Rise: Challenges for PH Foreign Relations: A Forum-Poster Exhibit

The UP Asian Center will launch a forum-poster exhibit, Asia on the Rise: Challenges for Philippine Foreign Relations, on 17 May 2018, 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm, UP Asian Center, QC. The forum-exhibit is free and open to the public; seating is first-come, first-served, but participants are asked to sign up.

LIST OF FORUM PRESENTATIONS The forum will be held on 17 May 2018, 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm; it features the presentations, through posters, of seven graduate students of the UP Asian Center taking up PS (Philippine Studies) 279—Philippine External Relations—under Professor Aileen Baviera.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZERS The forum-poster exhibit is organized by the students of PS 279 taught this semester by Dr. Aileen Baviera, Professor at the UP Asian Center, who specializes on and writes about contemporary China studies, China-Southeast Asia relations, Asia-Pacific security, territorial and maritime disputes, and regional integration.

The editor in chief of the journal, "Asian Politics & Policy," she is the author of many academic publications, including the "The Domestic Mediations of China's Influence in the Philippines," which appears in Rising China's Influence in Developing Asia, edited by Evelyn Goh and published by Oxford University Press. She completed her Ph.D. in Political Science at the University of the Philippines Diliman.
