Dr. Ferdinand Blancaflor Pitagan was a Monbukagusho (Japanese Government Scholarship) scholar from 2005 to 2010, under which he graduated from the International Christian University, Tokyo, Japan with a degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Education. He is also a graduate of the the University of the Philippines - Diliman with the degree of Masters of Education major in Educational Technology under the DOST Scholarship.

He was a research fellow at Tokyo Gakugei University (2005-2006) and at Institute for Educational Research and Service of International Christian University (2010-2012); a special science teacher at Philippine Science High School - Main Campus (1997-2004); a professional trainer for the Cisco Networking Academy; the project coordinator of the Asian Graduate School Forum; and an educational technology consultant of the UP Information Technology Training Center (UP-ITTC)] and Philippine Science High School System. Most recently, he was an assistant professor at the University of the Philippines - Diliman, College of Education, teaching educational technology and research courses.

He has done extensive research, written articles and presented in international/national conferences on topics covering education, technology, media and society. Furthermore, he has received international/national awards including the Support Your Dream - Best Filipino Teacher, UP College of Education Excellence in Teaching and Rotary International Model Student.

At present, he is an educational technology consultant of the Department of Education, Quipper School and Knowledge Channel; an editorial board member of Sage Open and the International Journal for Educational Media and Technology (IJEMT); and convener of The First Media and Information Literacy Intensive Teacher Trainer Program and ActivatED.

CONSULTANCY
