He stays at the family’s pension house where he meets Manang and Carol, his wife’s mother, and tells them about Alina’s passing. Through his conversations with the ever-accommodating Manang, he discovers what happened to the household after his wife’s departure. During his stay, he witnesses hallucinations of a ghostly teenage girl. He eventually discovers who this girl is and reveals Carol’s true feelings about her daughter.
