Upon his return to Diliman, he served as Senior Lecturer in Political Science during the first semester of academic year 2010-2011 and proceeded as a full-time assistant professor the semester after. Currently, Asst. Prof. Taguibao is in the process of completing his PhD. Recently, he has published two peer-reviewed academic journal articles on Renewable Energy development in the Philippines (2010), and on the Renewable Energy Act of 2008 (2012).


Currently, Asst. Prof. Taguibao is completing his PhD in Political Science from the University of the Philippines-Diliman. Upon completion of his PhD coursework, he intends to write a dissertation on Philippine Energy and Environmental Politics, particularly, Renewable Energy Development in the Philippines. Asst. Prof. Taguibao's research interests include Media Politics, Political Economy and Technology Politics.

Jalton Garces Taguibao is Assistant Professor at the Department of the Political Science, College of Social Sciences, University of the Philippines-Diliman.
