This thesis aims to figure out the type of reality reaffirmed by Pinoy Big Brother from society. It employs Textual Analysis with the aid of Michel Foucault's theories on the discourse of power and discipline. It looks into the Panoptic environment of PBB and the works of surveillance to impose power and discipline over the housemates. It studies the implication of the rules and time to the containment of an individual. As control is one of the main elements to be studied, it is assumed that one of the main goals of the show is to transform individuals. This study also looks at what kind of transformation the show wants from its housemates by studying the regime of truth inside the house and in society.

Keywords: reality, Panopticon, regime of truth, discipline, containment
