WINNER WINNER

ABSTRACT

In a patron-client society influenced greatly by religion, people involved are either struggling or abiding with these forces governing them just to survive daily living. "Winner Winner" is the story of how the elite gains from the poverty of the majority. Framed by ideological criticism, it explores how Christianity is being used by the powerful in order to drive the powerless to depend more on them.

This production thesis, set in the Philippine Lenten season, ensues a day in a life of a loving mother who joins the popular game show, "Winner Winner," in the hope of redeeming her daughter’s corpse from the morgue.
