He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, Major in Political Science in 1998, from the University of the Philippines-Diliman. He graduated with a Masters degree in Public Management from the University of the Philippines-Manila in 2010. He has also completed coursework units in the Master of Arts in Political Science Program. Presently, he is PhD student in Political Science from the University of the Philippines-Diliman.
