UP KAPITAS was conceptualized in the summer of 1990. It was officially recognized as a CSSP- based organization on the 27th of July of that same year. The founders, composed of ex-seminarians and ex-applicants of other philosophy organizations, envisioned to bring back the lost glory of Philosophy and create a unique Filipino philosophy that would alleviate the oppressive lives of the Filipino masses. History
