Indak is a film which revolves around the idea of morality and the levels of crime and punishment. Its narrative follows the story of Jon, a wealthy businessman, and his messenger, who both undergo familial and moral struggles after being sought after by a notorious vigilante, Governor, Marco. The supposed antagonists, Jon and his messenger, are given distinct layers apart from their criminal associations. This humanizes the idea of a criminal. As the plot progresses, Marco’s personal mission to catch the culprits exposes similarities between the narrative’s protagonist and antagonists. After the messenger encounters complications with a narcotics delivery, things take an unexpected turn which eventually lead to the unfortunate fate of the criminal.

More than the characteristic differences, the film highlights underlying similarities between the main characters. Not discounting their presumed roles, it is similarities such as those portrayed in the film, which seek to reveal both the hierarchy of crime and pique the audience’s thoughts on the irony of vigilantism as a means of securing justice. Ultimately, the film was made in the hopes of reinforcing the idea that indeed, vigilantism may well be a form of impunity. >
