In addition to UVLe Activities like Assignment, Chat, Choice, Quiz, Wiki, the following are special activity types on UVLe:

Attendance

Attendance Settings

A classroom teacher can now take attendance and record it directly in UVLe. Points may also be assigned to students being present, late, absent, or excused. To enable this functionality, add the Attendance activity on UVLe.

Activities Using Learning Tools

Progress Bar

Progress Bar is a block to be added on UVLe to be able to visually track the progress of students' activities.

Engagement Analytics

Complementing the Progress Bar is the Engagement Analytics block that the teacher can add so that the students themselves can see their own level of engagements in the course. Student activities like login, Forum, Assignments are aggregated and computed into certain figures.

Checklist

A checklist of items can be created and ticked off by the teacher or the students. It also includes features like:

  • additional notes for the checklist
  • items can include dates that can be exported to the calendar
  • teacher's comments on checklist items
  • color choices for checklist items

If also used as a block, Checklist can be set to include a progress bar tracking students' progress. If the activity is graded, the grades can be exported as an Excel spreadsheet containing the checkmarks from a checklist.

Mindmap

This enables teachers and students to create mind maps like this

Games

The game activity makes use of glossaries, quizzes and questions to create a variety of interactive games within the course.

Video Conferencing

Google Hangouts
