UPAK is the only Karate organization based in the University of the Philippines, Diliman. This organization represents UP in various tournaments held all over the country. Its Karate Education System is provided by Karate Development Arts and Sports(KDA), recognized as the leading Karate organization in the country by the Philippine Karatedo Federation (PKF). UPAK's instructors are past members of the Philippine National Karate Team.

UPAK offers personal development and enrichment through our highly-supervised, extensive and progressive training programs. Members recognize the need to actively practice the values inherent in Karate - honesty, humility, hard work, and a conscientious, positive attitude - striving for academic, athletic and social excellence within the framework of the University of the Philippines' formation program.

UPAK intends to regularly represent the University in local, regional, and national-level competitions to bring honor and recognition not only to our alma mater but also to the Filipino nation through the pursuit of academic, athletic and social excellence. Members are trained to become athletes of the Philippine National Karate Team and to be part of KDA's roster of blackbelts. By participating in these worthwhile pursuits, we encourage our members to cultivate a physically strong and fit body, a sound mind, an indomitable spirit and a conscientious, positive character.
