Clod Marlan Krister V. Yambao, ( b. 1983) is a graduate of BA Art Studies at the University of the Philippines, Diliman and  currently taking his MA in Art History at the same university with a thesis about constructing the narrative of the "Philippine POstcolonial Avant- Garde"  .   He is the author of the peer reviewed journal article entitled''', “Phallonoptic Malate:  Consuming the Spaces of Male  Desires, Power and Gazes  in the Streets of Jorge Bocobo and Maria Orosa, Malate, Manila”''' Humanities Diliman, Vol 6, Number 1 and 2, 2009 (in Filipino). He uses phallonopticism, a confluence of both phallus and panopticonas the critical category in order to analyze the male homosociality of Malate. He has delivered papers that dealt with contemprary art theory and aesthetics, diaspora, queer, popular culture, cultural studies and critical theory  in different international conferences

He is also an Assistant Professor of Art Studies at the University of the Philippines, College of Arts and Letters, Dept. of Art Studies. His academic interests include Philippine contemporary art history, critical theory and art theory, Philippine cultural studies, affect and queer studies, globalization studies and performance studies. While his research direction focuses on Philippine contemporary art and cultural life, he addresses more broadly the politics of theory production, representations and performative identities of different Philippine socio- cultural categories.  Part of his  thesis was internationally published as  as peer reviewed journal article  entitled, ” Philippine Installation Art from 1970 to 2008 as the Discourse of Philippine Postcolonial Avant-Garde.” (JATI Journal of Southeast Asian Studies, Volume 16 December 2011. University of Malaya, Kuala LumpurMalaysia.) Currently, he is working on his next research project about the critical interlocutions of  Philippine contemporary art, dromology  and modernity studies.
 
He is also a yoga enthusiast, swimmer, marathoner and a dragon boater
