MAN OF THE HOUSE
Man of the House is a film about Kuya who comes from one middle-class household. He, after his mother learns of his father’s infidelity, takes on a role which is his mother’s in their home. This film is about the fluidity of roles in the family. It aims to suggest that the playing of roles are performances in themselves and are not fixed but are flexible- that if all is role play; any role, any one can play. The film operates guided by the Family Sytems Theory by Bowen, the Social Learning Theory by Bandura and Gender/Identity as Performance by Butler.
