Description: A story sung which customarily done by grandparents when their grand-

children gather around them and ask for it after supper. The theme of the awit
and the kurido is generally about the war and love exploits of Christian royalty who
win over muslims. Occasionally, the theme is about parental demands from children
or familial obligations. Sometimes the awit and kurido are sung merely to while
away the time.
