Usage

This section lists down on how to use formatting set up as defined by wiki mark-up.

Bold and italics

Bold icon.
Italic icon.

Notice the use of apostrophes on the table. If you will insert two pair of apostrophes on each side of a word or phrase, it will format the word or phrase in italic. However, if you insert three apostrophes on each side of the word or phrase, it will format it in bold.

  • Using italics
''Lorem ipsum'' dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit.
Product:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit.
  • Using bold
'''Lorem ipsum''' dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit.
Product:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit.

However, if you want to bolden and italicize a word or phrase, you have to insert five apostrophes on each side of the word of phrase.

'''''Lorem ipsum dolor''''' sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit.
Product:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit.

Three of those apostrophes pushes the word to format as bold, while the other two makes it italicized.

Linking

Linking can be of two types: internal linking and external linking. Internal inking refers to pointing to the pages that are either existing or non-existing on Iskwiki, but related to Iskwiki's main points. External linking, however, is pointing to websites other than Iskwiki.

Citations

According to scientists, the Sun is pretty big.<ref>E. Miller, The Sun, (New York: Academic Press, 2005), 23-5.</ref>
The Moon, however, is not so big.<ref>R. Smith, "Size of the Moon", Scientific American, 46 (April 1978): 44-6.</ref>

Output

According to scientists, the Sun is pretty big.[3]
The Moon, however, is not so big.[4]

Notes

  1. An article with four or more headings will automatically create a table of contents.
  2. Use of a level 1 heading is highly discouraged as it appears with the same formatting and size as the page title, which can be confusing.
