MEMORANDUM NO. SSC-09-042
To: Deans and Directors
Subject: UPCAT 2010 on August 1 and 2, 2009
UPCAT 2010 will be administered on August 1 and 2, 2009 in UP Diliman.
As indicated in the Academic Calendar for AY 2009-2010, August 1 and 2 are no-class days for the entire UP System. As such, August 1 (a Saturday) has not been counted in the reckoning of the number of class days for the semester. There is thus no need to make-up for August 1 since there should be no classes missed.
To accommodate the close to 30,000 applicants estimated to take the UPCAT in Diliman campus, practically all academic buildings will be used as test centers. As in previous years, we should anticipate a large volume of traffic not only within the campus but also along Katipunan. C.P. Garcia and in the PHILCOA area, especially from 6:00 to 8:00 AM, 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, and 4:30 to 6:30 PM.
Please be informed that only authorized UPCAT personnel and the examinees will be allowed to enter the examination areas in the buildings used as test centers on August 1 and 2. The list of buildings that will be used as test centers is attached for your reference. Access to the other parts of the buildings by the officials and staff of the building will not be prohibited provided they can show a written authorization from the Head of the unit. Also, any construction work being done in these buildings must be suspended during the two days.
I enjoin the cooperation of everyone to help in the safe and smooth administration of this very important University function.
SERGIO S. CAO
Chancellor
