The UP SORORITAS ASTRVM SCIENTIS is a duly recognized all-female organization at the University of the Philippines. Its mother chapter was chartered at Diliman on August 14, 1972 and was established at UP Los Baños on February 14, 1990.

History

ASTRUM SCIENTIS was founded on August 14, 1972 by 14 charter members with the help of Scintilla Juris Fraternity.

Inspired by the principles of intellectual integrity, rule of law, and academic excellence, AS has spearheaded various social and civic activities on and off campus all throughout their existence.

Starting with 14 charter members, the sorority has grown to become a social training ground for its members. Their activities, to name a few, include medical and dental missions, outreach programs for kids and abandoned elders, exhibits, symposia, quiz contests, exposure trips, and stage plays.

The sorority has helped its members upgrade their social awareness especially on issues involving women. AS is the pioneer of the women's liberation movement in the ranks of UPLB students back in the early `90s.
