The Center for Local and Regional Governance (CLRG) has been at the forefront of research, consulting services and facilitated learning on local autonomy and devolution in the country since 1965. Emerging from the Local Government Center (LGC) created through Republic Act 4223, CLRG has expanded its scope to include regional governance and urban and metropolitan management. It collaborates with local and international institutions in promoting decentralization and publishing materials for the benefit of local government and regional units.

Generating resources and experts pool on federalism for the Philippine context

Organization Development and HRM for LGUs

Assistance to LGUs on reorganization and decentralized management systems
Technical assistance to LGUs human resource development and management
Publication of handbooks and manuals on systems improvement

Regionalization and Urban and Metropolitan Management

Research and training in regional, urban and metropolitan issues and concerns

LGU-Private Sector, LGU-NGO Engagement and Intergovernmental Collaboration

Research and facilitated training on the dynamics of government-civil society-private sector cooperation
Research and training on intergovernmental relations
Research and training on inter-LGU alliance building
